Collector V. Rajaraman has ordered a series of measures to control infectious and communicable diseases in the district.

The Collector, who reviewed the situation with health officials at the Collectorate on Tuesday, stressed the need for keeping public places, hospitals and school premises clean to prevent spread of communicable diseases, an official release said. The Collector also directed the authorities to clean the overhead water tanks twice a month, remove plastic materials, attend to leakages in drinking water pipelines and maintain the sewerage system to prevent stagnation, a release said.
