‘Management students should become entrepreneurs’

Immediately after studies, management students should start their own business, face challenges, learn the trade themselves and pave way for creating a strong business model, B. Soundarajan, Managing Director, Suguna Holdings Limited, Coimbatore, said here on Wednesday.

Speaking at the inauguration of Business Line Club at Knowledge Business School, jointly organised by The Hindu Business Line , Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited, Mr. Soundarajan said that salary should not be the prime focus for students looking for a job.

He said that interaction with many people have helped him to expand his small business that was started for survival into a Rs. 5,000 crore empire.

Pradip, Regional Manager, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited, Coimbatore, called for management students to work in rural areas for uplift of farmers.

An interaction session that saw students throwing questions about business ethics, practices and strategies adopted at times were also held at the end of the session.
