TIRUNELVELI: The Ervadi police are on the lookout for six members of a family for allegedly murdering their cousin.

Police said Joseph (65) of Meenakshipuram under the Ervadi police station limits had a property dispute with the family members of his elder brother, Sivalingam, for the past ten years. When the dispute resurfaced recently, Joseph's son, Jayaraj (45), allegedly attacked his uncle, Sivalingam, with a stone and subsequently he was arrested.

Coming out on bail, Jayaraj, a milk vendor, was going in his bicycle on the Ervadi - Valliyoor road on Sunday morning. A lorry hit him and the occupants of it attacked him with sickles, killing him on the spot. A close examination of the body revealed that it was a murder.
