A 40-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run case at Natrampalli.

Police said Parthiban, a resident of Kethandapatti village in Vaniyambadi taluk, was a driver of a tipper lorry. He had parked the lorry on National Highway-46 and was walking on the stretch at 12.30 a.m. on Thursday when an identified car plying fatally knocked him down.

Six persons injured

Six passengers on an Andhra Pradesh government bus bound to Kuppam sustained injuries after a lorry hit the vehicle on National Highway-46 near Natrampalli on Thursday evening.

The Natrampalli police said the bus was plying from Tirupattur to Kuppam via Natrampalli.

When the bus was waiting to take a turn at the U-turn on NH-46 near Natrampalli, a lorry plying from Krishnagiri towards Chennai rammed it. Six persons – all men – sustained injuries and were admitted to the Government Hospital at Vaniyambadi, police said.
