A 78-year-old man on Friday lodged a complaint with the police against his son.

K. Mahendran of Chinniampalayam told Peelamedu police that his son Prasadkumar (44) and his daughter-in-law did not provide food and failed to take care of him. He also complained that they harassed him.

The City Police have detained three persons for questioning in connection with the robbery at a goldsmithy on Vysial Street on May 19. The police have been on the lookout for a four-member gang allegedly involved in the incident.

Police said four persons posing as crime branch sleuths from Chennai City Police took away 1 kg gold from the shop of V. Krishnamoorthy when he left for his native village. Krishnamoorthy's brother Dinesh Kumar (23) and five workers were in the shop during the incident. They were locked in a room by the gang.
