TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi Corporation will organise a special mass contact programme, ‘Makkalai Thedi,’ on July 18 for residents of wards 51 and 56 in the city.

Welfare assistance also

Apart from grievances relating to civic amenities, applications seeking welfare schemes including old age pension, marriage and maternity assistance, house site pattas and membership in welfare boards would be accepted.

Applications seeking Corporation services such as property tax assessments, new water connections and plan approvals would also be accepted.

Petitions for the camp can be submitted in advance at the Corporation Zonal Office at Puthur between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on July 15 to 17.

The mass contact programme would be held at the K. A. P. Viswanatham Higher Secondary School campus at Thillai Nagar at 10 a.m. on July 18.

Transport Minister K. N. Nehru, Collector T. Soundiah, Mayor S.Sujatha and other officials would attend the camp, Corporation Commissioner T. T. Balsamy said in a press release.

Petitions received at the camp would be processed and acted upon immediately, he added.

On the same day, welfare assistance for petitioners who had submitted their applications during the previous Makkalai Thedi camp for wards 54 and 55 would be distributed by Mr. Nehru at the Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School campus at Puthur, the release added.
