TIRUCHI: The Southern Command Motorcycle Expedition that started off its journey in Pune on September 22 reached Tiruchi on Friday.
The team comprising leader Captain Sagar Pushp, four officers, a junior commissioned officer and six other soldiers was received by Station Commander of II7 Infantry Battalion Co. C.P. Medappa. The purpose of the expedition that has covered many towns and cities including Bangalore and Madurai is to encourage youths in the southern States to join armed forces. The team has been interacting with students of schools and colleges en route.
Co. Medappa flagged off the expedition team towards Puducherry. The team will proceed from there to Chennai and from there to Bangalore. The expedition will culminate in Pune on October 9.
