ERODE: Expressing solidarity to the strike call given by the lorry owners, 3,000 lorries and 5,000-odd goods vans will be off the road on June 13 here.
Announcing the decision to strike work on Friday, lorry owners said that due to the hike in diesel prices, they were incurring heavy loss.
Corresponding to the diesel price hike, they have to revise the freight charges, which would affect the common man, they said.
So the lorry owners have pleaded the Union Government to withdraw the diesel, petrol price hike.
Because of the announcement of the strike by the lorry owners here, the textile merchants have stopped the booking of goods to North India, which would be resumed after June 14.
