A three-day breathing exercise programme was conducted for loco pilots, officers, supervisors and instructors of the railways here.
The Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi, P.V. Vaidialingam, inaugurated the programme, which was organised by the Diesel Traction Training Centre attached to the Diesel Loco Shed, Ponmalai.

Mr. Vaidialingam said breathing exercise synchronizes the mind and the body through rhythmic breathing. He explained the nature of duty being performed by the loco pilots and mental pressure they underwent while emphasising on their fitness aspect. Mr. Jegadeesan, a retired Captain, explained the benefits which could be derived out of the breathing exercises such as stress relief, peaceful mind and enthusiasm, a Southern Railway press release here said.
