The Additional Sessions Judge, Muralisundaram, on Thursday, convicted and sentenced six persons - all relatives - to life imprisonment in a murder case.

According to prosecution, a group of persons - S. Govindaraj (50), his wife G. Valathayi (45), their sons G. Sathyaraj (20) and G. Ramaraj, and their relatives A. Masilamani and S. Manivel - attacked Kangaraj, their relative, with deadly weapons.

Previous enmity over some property dispute was the cause of the attack.

The incident happened at the residence of Kanagaraj at Rasimangalam village near Vadagadu on March 7, 2010.

The police arrested them and registered a case under Sections 302, 149 and 120 (b) of IPC.

The Additional Sessions Judge who found them guilty, awarded life sentence to each of them, and a fine of Rs.7,000 each.

They were all lodged in the Central Prison in Tiruchi.
