No MICR cheques

for PO accounts

Customers with post office savings account at Chennai general post office have to collect new cheque truncation system (CTS) cheque books by this month-end. Use of MICR cheque leaves will be discontinued from January 1, 2013. People holding accounts may contact the respective post offices for details, a press release said.
