The Madurai Bench High Court Advocates Association (MBHAA) passed a resolution on Wednesday stating that it would not stand by individual advocates, who distribute and paste leaflets inside the court campus criticising certain judges and their judgements, if the High Court Registry or any other person chooses to initiate action against them. According to a press note issued by MBHAA vice-president M. Veilkani Raju, the resolution was passed unanimously in the general body meeting. The announcement comes in the wake of a dispute between the members of the association over recent distribution of leaflets criticising a judge for granting bail and anticipatory bail to those accused in the granite quarry scam in the district.
