Shanti Ashram will launch here on Wednesday a nationwide campaign ‘Standing up with a million Indian children’ for improving the conditions of vulnerable children.

According to the organisers, it will be launched by Coimbatore Mayor S.M. Velusamy on the PSG Public School grounds in the presence of 2,000 children and 100 partners.

The campaign will involve reaching out to a million children across 10 States of India in four phases, talk to them and tell them the campaign stands by them. Each partner will find a unique way to defend the rights of children, invest their resources for child-centred programmes such as birth certificate verification, child rights literacy, age appropriate immunisation, introduction to ethics education, community service experience with focus to end child marriage and child poverty. The programme will be held from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
