To avail 25 per cent quota for poor, weaker and disadvantaged sections

Applications for admission of children in the entry level class in private schools against the 25 per cent quota for poor, weaker and disadvantaged sections under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act should be submitted before 5 p.m. on May 9.

According to a release from the Chief Education Officer, Vellore and the Inspector of Matriculation Schools, Tiruvannamalai, all private schools have been asked to prominently display at the entrance to the schools the number of seats available against the 25 per cent quota in the schools on the basis of G.O. No.60 of the School Education Department, dated April 1, 2013.The list of candidates eligible for admission under the 25 per cent quota would be displayed in the notice boards of the respective schools at 5 p.m. on May 11.

The candidates would be selected for admission against the quota on a random basis in the presence of the parents and observers. The list of selected candidates would be displayed in the notice boards of the schools at 2 p.m. on May 14.
