Nine visually challenged students received laptops, given free of cost for promotion of higher education by the UDIS Forum under the Marga Schulze Scholarship scheme.

A release from the organisation working for the differently abled said that this year 120 students from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala benefitted from the scholarship.

Under the Marga Schulze Scholarship the forum conducted a computer evaluation test for recipients of the scholarship and the deserving candidates were provided with a free laptop each every year. For 2010-11, nine candidates were given laptops on Tuesday at a function held at the Government College of Education for Women.

Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education R.M. Pankajavalli and the principal of the college distributed the laptops.

M.N.G. Mani, Managing Trustee, UDIS Forum, presided over the function.
