The Ladies Wing of the Community Centre, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, has proposed to start a bank account exclusively to generate funds for the educational and health development of students of Government Girls' Higher Secondary School for the Blind.

The Ladies' Wing recently mobilised biscuits, pulses and grocery items from residents of BHEL township and other well wishers, and handed them over to the students at a recent function.

Rajam Krishnan, patron of the Community Centre, handed over the provisions to 100 students in the presence of Pankajam Nainar, its president, and K. Selvaraj, a BHEL employee and a campaigner for eye donation.

Biscuits, grocery items collected from the BHEL residents, were given to students
