Two new branches of Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) were inaugurated at Appanallur near Musiri in Tiruchi district and at Vilar in Thanjavur district on Friday.

The Appanallur branch was opened by Aranganathan, president of Appanallur village panchayat, at a brief function. Saradha, principal, Saradha Matriculation School, lighted the traditional lamp to mark the occasion.

Rathinasundaram, president of Vilar panchayat, inaugurated the Vilar branch of the bank and Sarojini of Thanjavur NM Hospital, lighted the lamp. Raghunathan, deputy general manager of the bank, divisional office, Tiruchi, presided over the function at both the villages.

With the opening of two new branches, the strength of Karur Vysya Bank has gone up to 470 of which Tiruchi division accounted for 35 branches.
