Tirupur: Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) president A. Sakthivel inaugurated the four-day Knit Tex fair organised by the Vision Trade and Exhibitions at Velan hotel fair grounds, here on Friday.
As many as 220 stalls had been set up showcasing wide range of products from machinery related to knitting, dyeing, compacting, embroidery, laundry and printing, among others, to garment accessories. The computer software institutions like Axon Infosoft India Private Limited were offering e-solutions to have apparel management systems in place.
The Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA), at its stall, had projected the IT solution named ‘Project Vikas' promoted by them in association with Microsoft to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises.
The expo was supported by industrial associations like Tirupur Exporters Association, Knit Cloth Manufacturers Association (KNITMA) and Tirupur Export Knit Printers Association (TEKPA).
The Textiles Committee, a body under Union Textiles Ministry, is the strategic partner of the event.
Seminars on topics like ‘effluent treatment solution for textile dyeing industries' and ‘six sigma overview', among others, were scheduled on second and third days of the exhibition.
