: The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, K.S.Eshwarappa, visited the Lord Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here on Thursday morning.
Accompanied by his family members, he offered prayers and performed special puja spending more than an hour in the temple.
District leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have said that the Karnataka leader has immense faith on Goddess Meenakshi and whenever there was an important event in his personal or political life, he has been visiting the Madurai temple.
They said that Mr.Eashwarappa told them that he will take a call on filing nomination for elections in a couple of days.
M.Rajarathnam, district BJP president, Tamil Selvi, District Mahila Morcha president and senior district leaders of the party received him at the temple and accompanied him.
Special security was provided for the visit. After visiting the temple, the Deputy Chief Minister had left for Bangalore.
