The annual Kamban Festival will be conducted by the Madurai Kamban Kazhagam from May 20.

The three-day festival will feature symposium, ‘patti mandram' and ‘vazhakkadu mandram' in which Kamban scholars will participate.

The festival will begin with a colourful rally from Bypass Road to Andalpuram, with Tamil scholars in the vanguard.

The ‘Vallal Sadayappar Award' will be given away on the second day of the festival. Prizes will be distributed to winners of several competitions organised to mark the eighth anniversary of the kazhagam.

The final day's programmes include a ‘natyanjali' for Kamban, according to a press release from R. Chockkalingam, secretary of Madurai Kamban Kazhagam.
