TIRUCHI: The former President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will address the third convocation of the National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi (NIT-T) on Friday.

A total number of 927 B.Tech., B.Arch., M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA and MCA graduates and 24 Ph.D. scholars will receive their degrees from Mr. Kalam. Board of Governors chairman R. Seshasayee and members will be present, NIT-T Director M. Chidambaram told presspersons here on Tuesday.

Mr. Kalam will deliver the convocation address after inaugurating the new lecture hall complex, comprising 30 classrooms, four lecture halls and two meeting halls.

The classrooms are large enough to accommodate any additional intake in the event of reservation for the Other Backward Classes taking shape.

All seven B.Tech programmes are conducted in the complex, he said.
