Udhagamandalam: Thanks to a two-day joint sitting by officials of the Accountant General’s

office and the department of treasuries and accounts which ended on Friday 99 per cent of audit related matters which were pending for many years were settled.

They pertained to Namakkal, Karur, Erode, Coimbatore and the Nilgiris.

The Deputy Accountant General, D. Muniratnamm, who presided over the session said that out of 83 pending matters taken up 82 were settled. Commending the treasury officers, he said that so far eight joint sittings had been held in various districts and 719 issues settled.

Among those who also participated were Joint Directors of Treasuries and Accounts R.Parthiban and P.E.R.Mangala Suvigaran. The Treasury Officer, the Nilgiris, G. Mohan, welcomed the gathering.
