Financial aid and materials worth Rs.18 lakh distributed at ONGC complex
Justice M.N.Rao, Chairman, National Commission for Backward classes, along with S.K.Kharventhan, Member, National Commission for Backward Classes, chaired a programme organised at the ONGC office complex, Neravy, on Thursday, as part of the All India ONGC OBC and MOBC Employees Welfare Association’s social development programme.
Financial aid and materials worth Rs.18 lakh were distributed on the occasion. This includes ONGC corporate social responsibility fund of Rs.14.50 lakh and one day salary contribution from the members of AIOBC&MOBC EWA.
Speaking on the occasion Justice Rao said that the job reservation system would continue till disparities exists in society. Mr.Har Govind, Executive Director, Cauvery Asset-ONGC, senior executives of ONGC, and office bearers of AIOBC and MOBC EWA participated .
Justice Rao presented Rs.3.86 lakh to M.Sankaridevi, founder, Angeline Marie Charitable and Educational Trust, Karaikal, for procurement of Haematology Analyser Equipment; Rs.3.99 lakh to B.R.Dwaraki, Executive Director, SCOPE India (Society for Community Organisation & People Empowerment), Cuddalore, for procuring six compo therapy equipment, and morphine drug imparting nursing procedure training to 30 healthcare professionals in six districts; Rs.3.95 lakh to government BC hostel, Kidarankondan, Tiruvarur district, for purchasing inverter, television, refrigerator, and setting up RO plant; and Rs.3.87 lakhs to Yogitha Industrial School, Nagapattinam, for procuring 90 sewing machines for women trainees in and around Nagapattinam.
