VELLORE: The director of the Vellore Institute of Development Studies, P. Jegadish Gandhi, is one of the six delegates from India who have been invited to participate in the Asian-Level Consultation on Women’s Issues organised by the Association of Christian Institutes of Social Concern in Asia at the HOPE Training Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh from May 4 to 8.

Dr. Gandhi said in a release that about 30 delegates from different parts of Asia would be participating in the consultation meeting. ‘Dignity and Rights of Women,’ ‘Exploitation of Women - Equality and Justice,’ ‘Gender Discrimination in South Asia,’ ‘Woman as a Peace-Builder’ and ‘Women’s Role in the Changing World’ are the main themes that would be discussed at the consultation.
