SALEM: A national conference organised by the Department of Computer Applications of Sona College of Technology urged students of Information Technology to take up more research and development activities.
The conference, held recently on the theme of Research Challenges in Computation and Information Technology, stressed the need for brining in more innovations to fuel the growth of IT sector.
Inaugurating the conference, KSR College of Technology Dean (Academic) K. Duraisamy said the IT sector was having capabilities to overcome the present economic crisis. The situation would improve in 2010.
While taking up research, students should have a clear idea about the problem and try to concentrate on narrow topics. They could gather resources from the Internet, books in the library and attend more conferences, he added. College Principal P. Govindarajan, MCA Director G.M. Kadhar Nawar, Dean S.
