Syntel Inc enters Gangaikondan Information Technology SEZ
: Syntel Inc., a global information technology services and knowledge process outsourcing firm, has become the first IT major to step into the Gangaikondan Information Technology Special Economic Zone near here. ‘Bhoomi puja’ was performed on Wednesday for constructing a building with an area of 2.50 lakh square feet.
"Once the work is completed within the next 24 months, Syntel, which has a highly qualified workforce of 22,179 personnel, will recruit 2,500 people to be placed in our Gangaikondan IT SEZ office," said Rakesh Khanna, Chief Operating Officer, Syntel.
Designed to comply with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Standards, this building, to be developed on Syntel’s 100-acre plot on the tax-free SEZ, will have a software development block with a dedicated security area, dining facilities and a welcome centre.
This campus will also incorporate sustainable elements, including optimal use of natural light and wind, and a solar farm for generating renewable energy.
Employee-friendly features planned by the company include multi-level terraces, internal courts with green spaces, a central courtyard, dedicated areas for amphitheatre, sports fields and a yoga and meditation centre.
