Over 700 persons, who have sought new ration cards at the second special camp organised here on December 8, are likely to get the cards soon, Collector Darez Ahamed has said. In a press release, he said of the 1,677 petitions received at the camp, 120 persons from Perambalur taluk, 216 from Veppanthattai taluk, 234 from Kunnam taluk, and 158 from Alathur taluk had sought new cards. All these applications would be perused and new ration cards would be given to the eligible candidates. Besides, 949 petitions for inclusion, deletion and correction of names in the cards received at the camp were settled immediately. The Collector pointed out that already 185 new ration cards had been distributed based on the petitions received at the first camp on November 3. “Printing is going on for the cards required for the rest of the eligible petitioners.

Besides, all the details related to those who submitted petitions at the first camp are displayed at the office of the Village Administrative Officer concerned.”
