NH stretch before entering Bhavani in bad shape

ERODE: What’s in a name? That which we call a road by any other name would be as motorable.

With due respects to the Bard for the liberty taken, it must be said that there is a stretch of a road in the district, which by any stretch of imagination cannot be called a road.

The stretch in question is a little outside the Bhavani town on the National Highways. As one proceeds to the carpet town from Erode, one comes across the stretch where the Bhavani Road joins the National Highways.

Tar toppings and blue metals have given away to holes of different sizes, giving a two-wheeler rider the experience of a seesaw ride. That road expansion and flyover works are underway is granted, but then there is a limit to trouble which a motorist can undergo. Adding to the memorable experiences are dust in the form of find sand and bumper to bumper movement of heavy vehicles. Road users say until such time the road is complete, the National Highways will do well to have some arrangement that gives a semblance of road.
