Indian Overseas Bank will open 400 more branches in 2011-12 across the country, according to its Chairman and Managing Director M. Narendra.
At a customer meeting here on Monday, he said that the bank currently had 2,190 branches and 180 of these were added during the last financial year.
It would also open 1,000 ATMs this year taking the total number of IOB ATMs to 2,445 across the country.
The procedure of sanctioning loans to students, colleges, hotels, real estate sector, small industries and farm sector was simplified now.
In Coimbatore region, it had lent Rs. 126 crore towards education loan.
At the National-level, 1.5 lakh students had received totally Rs. 2,000 crore as education loan from the bank.
