Two other women lose their valuables to chain-snatchers


A 33-year-old woman who was alone at home was robbed of her gold chain by an unidentified intruder.

The police said Anita was having dinner and had not locked the front door, when the man barged into her house in Electronics City on Monday night, gagged her, and tied her hands and legs before escaping with the gold chain worth Rs. 2 lakh.

When her family returned home, they found the front door latched from outside. Suspecting something fishy, they rushed inside to see Anita tied up on the bed.

The Parappana Agrahara police suspect that the attacker might have kept watch on the house and noticed the family members going out leaving Anita alone.

In another incident, two motorcycle-borne men snatched a gold chain weighing 6 gm from a woman in Madiwala on Tuesday morning.

Shalini (65) was returning from her morning walk when the duo intercepted her and made away with the gold chain.

In a similar incident, two men robbed a gold chain worth Rs. 2 lakh from a city-based doctor in HBR Layout on Tuesday.

Shobha Rani was watering plants in front of her house when two men on a motorcycle approached her on the pretext of asking about an address and sped away after snatching her gold chain.

The K.G. Halli police have taken up a case of robbery and are investigating.
