VELLORE: The School of Computing Sciences of the VIT University and the Computer Society of India, Division-II and IV would be jointly organising the ObCom 2006, an international conference on "Mobile, Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing' on the VIT University premises on December 16 and 17.

The conference assumes significance in the context of the society becoming increasingly mobile, with business and consumers looking to wireless technologies for solutions to their communication and computing needs.

With the fast changing technologies and customer-driven product development in the areas of wireless communication and mobile computing, the researchers and design engineers have to cope with the fast changing end-users' requirements.

The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the platinum sponsor and Honeywell the gold sponsor of the conference, which aims to bring experts, researchers, faculty and students together to discuss the technological advancements in the concerned fields.
