Interface on planned growth today

Queries from the public are coming in over e-mail for the interface The Hindu and the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, will conduct on ‘Planned Growth for Coimbatore' on January 7. This is the first of the ‘Glow Coimbatore' initiative to discuss what is needed for the region's development.

Director of Town and Country Planning Pankaj Kumar Bansal and Coimbatore District Collector P. Umanath will participate in the event. After they touch upon issues relating to development, the officials will respond to the points e-mailed to The Hindu. The mail ID is reachthehindu@gmail.com. Queries can be sent till noon on Friday.

The event will focus on macro-level issues such as Master Plan, Development Control Rules, zoning, and satellite townships.

Suggestions/ queries may be restricted to broad development issues.

Civic issues such as garbage removal or problems in drainage may be avoided as these can be taken up at another meeting later with officials concerned.
