About 50,000 persons belonging to the families of temple employees in the State are to be brought under the fold of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.

An order issued by the State Tourism, Culture and Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department on Wednesday stated that those employees of the temples, whose annual income did not exceed Rs. 72,000, would be provided the insurance cover, as done in the case of government employees. The move would benefit around 12,000 employees. The total number of beneficiaries had been calculated on the assumption that each family has, on an average, four members, according to an official. — Special Correspondent
