Chief Judicial Magistrate Chinna Raj on Friday passed an injunction order against former Tourism Minister N.Suresh Rajan restraining him from selling or mortgaging his properties worth Rs.14 crore until the Directorate Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing in the district clears the cases filed against him.

The CJM passed the order after the DVAC wing moved the court seeking to direct Mr.Rajan not to sell or mortgage his properties.

The DVAC wing conducted raids nine times on the house of the former Minister at Vellalar Colony here and the houses of his relatives in various parts of the district for allegedly having amazed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

He was the Tourism Minister in the DMK regime from 2006 to 2011.
