CHENNAI: Three persons were arrested in Kodungaiyur police station limits on Friday on charges of involvement in a murder two years ago.

Police said the arrest followed interrogation of three inebriated men by night patrol officers. Officers discovered that they were involved in the murder of a 50-year-old woman in a temple in Basin Bridge area in 2005.

According to the confessions, the trio Ramachandran, Vellai Raju and Munusamy admitted to being part of a gang that committed the murder. Police found the victim Nagabushanam dead inside the temple. With the arrest of the three, police are confident of arresting the main accused in the case.
