A six-year-old Indian Gaur, which created panic among people at Periyapatti village, was tranquillised by forest officials and sent back to the forest.

Deputy Conservator of Forests M. Dhanraj told The Hindu here on Wednesday that the animal was first sighted at Kongalnagaram village between Dharapuram and Pollachi on Tuesday. A cattle merchant sustained injuries when he tried to tame the animal at Kongalnagaram. — Staff Reporter
