CUDDALORE: Cuddalore district has achieved 78.79 per cent results in Plus-Two examinations, which is 4 per cent higher than the previous year.

Of 25,272 students, including 12,043 boys and 13,229 girls, who sat for the examinations, 19,912 candidates emerged successful. This included 9,226 boys and 10,668 girls.

Chief Educational Officer C. Amudhavalli told The Hindu that she was happy about the results. The three top scores in the matriculation stream are all from Jawahar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Neyveli. They are as follows: K.Mithilareshmi who scored 1,180 out of 1,200 marks; P.L.Monisha – 1,179 and J.Ayishwarya – 1,178. Those who placed in the top three in Tamil medium are as follows: T. Charumathi (1,173) of Krishnasamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Cuddalore; second place shared by T.Priya (1,171) of Veenus Mat.Hr.Sec.School at Chidambaram and K.A.Charumathi (1,171) of St.Mary's Mat. HSS at Cuddalore; third place went to M.Visalakshmai (1,170) of Kamaraj Mat.HSS at Chidambaram.

The top scorers in the government schools are P. Anbalagi (1,128) of Government HSS at Veeraperumanallur, R.Rajeswari (1,124) of Govt.Girls HSS at Vriddhachalam and S.Alagammal (1,106) of Govt.Girls HSS at Chidambaram.

The top scorers from aided schools are K. Ilakkiya (1,149) of Aruna HSS at Eraiyur; second place is shared by S. Rahul (1,148) of T.V.C.HSS at Srimushnam, S.Vasanthi (1,148) of T.G.M.HSS at Sethiathope and M.Renumaheswari (1,148) of N.L.C.Girls HSS at Neyveli.

The schools that came up with 100 per cent results are as follows: C.K. School of Practical Knowledge at Cuddalore, St. Joseph's Mat.HSS at Koothapakkam, New Millenium Mat.HSS at Cuddalore, St.Paul's Mat.HSS at Kurinjipadi, Sri P.Muthaiyar HSS at Panruti, St.Paul's Mat.HSS at N.Kuppam, Mangalam Mat.HSS and S.B.Mat.HSS at Bhuvanagiri, Sevamandir Girls HSS at Parangipettai, Ayyanar Mat.HSS at Vepur, S.R.Krishna Mat.HSS at Pennadam and Dhava Amudham Mat.HSS at Srimushnam.

Ms. Amudhavalli said that only the Government Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary School at Dharamanallur had scored less than 35 per cent results. Last year, the Govt.HSS at Neduncheri produced 15 per cent results, Pachaiyappan's HSS at Chidambaram 25 per cent and Govt.NB HSS at Chidambaram 35 per cent.
