Pramod Kumar, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Armed Police, Tamil Nadu, has filed an anticipatory bail application in the Madras High Court in a case being investigated by CBI against police officials for allegedly having received money from a firm, Paazee Forex. The firm, it was alleged, had collected huge sums of money as deposits from various persons and had defaulted in repayments.

The petitioner submitted the main person involved in this case or the firm directors had not in their statements said that he demanded money or money was given by them to him, when he was serving as IGP, West Zone, Coimbatore, or to someone on his behalf.

This would show that he had not had any link with the directors.

When the petition came up before Justice M.M. Sundresh, the Special Public Prosecutor for CBI, N. Chandrasekharan, took notice.
