The ‘term end’ examinations of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be held in 781 examination centres, including 41 overseas centres and 56 centres in various prisons, between June 1 and 28. A total of 4,45,326 students have been issued with hall tickets for attending the examinations.
According to a press communiqué issued by IGNOU Regional Director S. Mohanan here on Thursday, seven examination centres had been set up in Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Uthamapalayam and Thanjavur for the benefit of students residing in 17 districts under the jurisdiction of the Madurai regional office.
The 17 districts were Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Karur, Madurai, The Nilgiris, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Thanjavur, Theni, Tiruvarur, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Tuticorin and Virudhunagar. The Madurai regional centre had also decided to establish two examination centres at the central prisons in Madurai and Tiruchi.
Students had been advised to bring hall tickets and identity cards issued by the university to the examinations. They should take mobile phones into the examination halls. The regional centre would issue separate halls tickets meant for practical examinations in Bachelor of Computer Applications and Master of Computer Application courses.
