COIMBATORE: ICFAI National College launched a PG Diploma programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance here on Friday.

The course is for those interested in seeking entry-level career opportunities in the banking, insurance and financial services sector, K.Ravichandar, Regional Head, Tamil Nadu West Region, told reporters. The course module integrated the curricula of select national level tests like the IRDA certification for insurance sector (Life and General), AMFI certification for Mutual Funds and NCFM certification for Financial Markets.

The course duration was nine months. Graduates of any discipline and final year Bachelor’s Degree could apply. Soft skill development, IT laboratory, field projects, additional certifications, internships, innovative programme design and placement assistance would be part of the programme.

A certificate from the ICFAI University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, would be awarded on completion of the course.

The course fees was Rs.54, 000. Fifty seats would be available in Coimbatore and 50 in Salem. Successful students of the BFI programme would be awarded a scholarship of 50 per cent of the tuition fees if they wished to pursue an MBA programme at ICFAI. Registration would be open from July 20 at the ICFAI National College, 4th Floor, Coimbatore Stock Exchange Building, Trichy Road. In Salem, the college is at Rajeshwari Towers, opposite Tamil Nadu Hotel.
