CHENNAI: A 35-year-old man was murdered and the body abandoned near Robertson Lane, R.K.Mutt Road, on Wednesday evening.

The police identified the victim as Srinivasan, owner of an ice-cream parlour in the same locality. Investigations revealed that Srinivasan was married to Jayakodi (32). He allegedly had an illicit relationship with another woman identified as Malathi (30).

It is said that Malathi demanded from Srinivasan a share in the earnings from his business. There were some differences between them on this issue that resulted in the murder, the police said. They suspected that Malathi’s brother Senthil committed the crime along with a few accomplices.

A hunt is on to nab the accused. Pattinapakkam police have registered a case of murder and sent the body to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
