With reference to the report, `Land acquisition report sparks panic' that appeared on page 4 of Chennai city, February 6, 2007, the Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) clarifies that it has not proposed any new land acquisition in Keelkattalai village. The TNHB is only initiating steps to issue notice to encroachers and illegal land grabbers to safeguard its land, 11.11 acres, which has been in its possession since 1994.

The contention of the residents regarding the order of the Madras High Court in October 2006 is not related to the Keelkattalai lands, as reported.

It is for Jamin Pallavaram.

There are six encroachments on 1.28 acres of TNHB land and not hundreds of houses, as reported.

The delay in executing the scheme is owing to the cases pending in the court. Now all court cases are in its favour, the TNHB says.
