The state general body meeting of Hindu Munnani held here on Sunday passed a resolution seeking early commissioning of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, stopping Foreign Direct Investment in retail trade and protection to temple properties from theft, among other matters.

Hindu Munnani leader Ramagopalan said the Central and State governments should arrest the people who were instigating public against the Kudankulam nuclear plant by wrong propaganda against nuclear energy.

“The early commissioning of the plant is a requisite to tide over the power crisis experienced in the State to a great extent,” he added.

The meeting also called for total prohibition in the State which include stopping of sale of IMFL.
