TIRUCHI: To achieve the desired goals of education, opportunities for pursuing higher education should be made available to students hailing from economically lower strata, said the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, M. Ponnavaiko.
Speaking at the inaugural of the CARE School of Engineering, CARE School of Business Management and the CARE School of Computer Applications promoted by the ‘G. Narayanan Educational Trust’ here recently, Dr. Ponnavaiko said that poverty prevented many qualified students from pursuing higher education. More opportunities must be created to meet the higher educational needs of these students, he said.
He also appealed to the management to strive hard and contribute its might for the growth and development of education. The Founder of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Educational Institutions, Perambalur, A. Srinivasan, inaugurated the Trust and the schools. The president of the Trust K. N. Ramajayam; Collector T. Soundiah; the Superintendent of Police, A. Kaliyamoorthy; the Mayor, S. Sujatha were present.
