The City Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of cheating his company to the tune of Rs. 40 lakh.
In a complaint that was filed with police, M. Sasimenon (50) said that he was running an engineering company in SIDCO in Sundarapuram, supplying accessories to the Indian Military.
He said that T. Kannan (37) of Tirunelveli, was working as an accountant for the past 10 ten years in his company. While auditing, it was found that Kannan had cheated the company to the tune of Rs. 40 lakh in the past four years.
Hence a case was filed with the Judicial Magistrate 7. Based on the courts direction, City Police Commissioner Amaresh Pujari ordered the City Crime Branch to register a case.
A special team on Thursday arrested Kannan. Investigations revealed that using the money, Kannan had brought four lorries in Tenkasi and used the companies money for running his business.
