Heavy rain lashed parts of Vellore district on Wednesday, bringing down the temperature.

While the climate in Vellore remained cool throughout the day with steady drizzles, there was heavy downpour after 6 p.m., lasting for more than three hours. Arcot recorded the highest rainfall of 66.6 mm during the 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Thursday. Rainfall (recorded in mm) in other parts of the district during the same period are, Kaveripakkam 50 mm, Walajapet 46.6, Vellore 45, Gudiyatham 44.3, Ambur 33, Melalathur 26.8, Sholinghur 8.3 and Arakkonam 7 mm.
