Principal district and sessions judge C.S. Murugan on Monday posted the hearing of Sankararaman's wife Padma's petition for re-examination to Tuesday.

The Judge said that he would hear the defence arguments after he took a decision on the petition filed by Padma. No decision was taken on Monday since 21 people named in the petition were yet to file a counter to the petition, according to Special Public Prosecutor N. Devadoss.

Last week, Sankararaman's wife and son appeared in court with a petition requesting a re-examination of herself, her son Anand Sharma and daughter Uma Maitreyi, stating they had been threatened and forced to turn hostile during cross examination in August 2009. On Monday, a CBCID sub-inspector escorted Padma and Anand Sharma to Kanchipuram. — Staff Reporter
