Perambalur district has crossed Rs.10 crore mark in extending medical insurance facility under the Chief Minister’s Expanded Medical Insurance Scheme.

According to a release from District Collector Darez Ahamed, so far 4,616 persons have received the benefits under the scheme to the tune of Rs.10.85 crore.

While treatment for burns has been extended to 46 persons, 210 persons have been given chemotherapy for cancer, and eye treatment for 86. Besides, uterus has been removed for 54.

While 133 persons have been dialysed, various surgeries including replacement of heart valve have been performed on 210 persons .

Besides, 210 persons have been given high quality hearing aids.
