Information Technology (IT) major HCL will soon set shop at the Tidel Park here.

The company has entered into an agreement with Tidel to occupy 98,000 sq.ft at the park here in the first phase. It is expected to start operations in three months, according to an official of the park.

Of the nine lakh sq.ft. of IT space at the Coimbatore Tidel Park, companies have now come forward to occupy over 2.5 lakh sq.ft. Apart from HCL, Payoda and Merrill Technology have occupied nearly 17,000 sq.ft each. Robert Bosch and Cameron will be the other companies at the park. These companies will, in total, generate over 3,000 jobs.

The Tidel Park here, which was inaugurated in August 2010, has come up on 10 acres with an investment of Rs. 407 crore at a 56-acre special economic zone in Peelamedu. It has a total built-up area of 17 lakh sq. ft. This includes space for car and two-wheeler parking, food courts, banks, ATMs, book store, video conference hall and travel desk. The Tidel is talking to more IT companies. Some of the common facilities will also be operational shortly, the official added.
