Exhibition on crockery and kitchenware also on
CHENNAI: Two exhibitions that promise ideal summer shopping are on in the city.
A `Crafts Utsav' exhibition is on at D.K. Kalyana Mandapam on III Avenue, Anna Nagar.
It features a collection of handicraft and handloom items. The items on display and sale include sheesam wood carvings, special wooden kitchenware articles from Uttar Pradesh, wood and brass idols made in Tamil Nadu, and terracotta figurines from Kolkata.
Pieces of jewellery, precious stones and cotton textiles are also on display at the expo, which is on till January 27 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibition was inaugurated by actor Sukanya last week.
The second exhibition will interest many, especially a discerning homemaker. Crockery and kitchenware including crystal fruit bowls, cook-and-serve sets, coffee mugs, plates and glassware are sale on at Sankara Hall, Alwarpet. It is open for another three days.
Some of the glass and crystal ware have been imported from Germany.
Ceramic and melamine sets too are part of the display-cum-sale, says a spokesperson for Crystal Trading Company, Mumbai, which has organised the display till April 23.
